Community Tasting Notes 8

October 9, 2015 - Dark purple center with a violet rim. The nose consists of plum, sweet cherry, wood, and earthy, barnyardy notes. On the palate, this wine is plummy with cherry undertones but not many secondary notes. Structurally, this is medium-bodied with solid acidity and light tannins. Overall, this wine feels more like a pinot in weight, and it is pretty primary at this time.

January 4, 2012 - best part of this bottle went to a red wine reduction for beef roast

June 29, 2011 - Was looking forward to this after trying their excellent zin. A little let down. Sour cherry and a little reduction on the nose. High acidity and alcohol outweighed the fruit a little.

November 22, 2010 - Black and white pepper wih a hint of mint. Tannins come in to increase complexity after getting some air. Violets and earthiness with alternating restraint and depth. Initially cries out for food pairing then beckons you to enjoy it on its own. Pretty, but not over the top in flavor. Perfumed blue fruit, succulent mouthfeel and pleasant nose.

April 18, 2010 - Tasted at the winery. This had less character than the Timbervine. It seemed more of a quaffable wine. Delicious for its slightly jammy blue fruit, but less complex. B+
