May 1, 2017 - Light red in color. 14.8% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, damp forest floor, cloves and sarsaparilla. Complex and elegant with amazing texture. Light to medium body with perfect acidity. Strawberries, cranberries, baking spices and a touch of fresh mint on the palate. The finish is long and seamless. Gorgeous Pinot Noir. Drink over the next few years.

October 29, 2016 - Medium-dark red with moderate transparency. Aromas of blackberry, cinnamon, and a hint of clove. Palate has black fruit core with some tea accents that carry into a medium finish. Not as ripe as the 2000 and 2001 in my experience and not as evolved. Enjoyable now and no hurry to drink at the level. May develop further. Drink or hold.

December 26, 2012 - Balanced with graceful tones of red and black fruit, stone and pepper. Fast but interesting finish. Good but not particularly memorable

December 14, 2012 - Intense and complex flavors of red and black fruits but there was also a hint of oxidation which damped down the enjoyment of what was still a tasty drink

December 8, 2012 - Some good aroma descriptions of this wine which is aromatically quite outgoing, intense, and complex. Unfortunately it is also a bit hot and lacks the texture of the world's best PN's by about a mile... This for me is at its peak, an excellent example of RRV PN, and with its palate weaknesses (high ETOH, lack of the purity of flavor) a very good wine that just can't get above 90 for me (though compared to other 10 year old Cal PNs it is probably higher than that numerically
