December 25, 2022 - GF's brother found this in a rich ladies basement that didn't store in properly. moldy cork fell in a tried to filter it, it was pure brown vinegar. oh well at least i can sorta say i tried one!

September 26, 2020 - Let me start by saying that I love older wine. Older wine has nuanced flavors really unavailable in any other food source. Some though unique may not be desirable but some can very well be.

This was opened for 2-3 hours prior to tasting. At first aroma's wafting from the glass were iron, aged cedar and musk. In mouth the wine is very muted with sour if not rotted strawberry flavors. The finish held for about 3 seconds and then gave way to an acidic lingering mouthfeel which reveals an out of balance Ch. Lafite.
Not one of the years to age. Nevertheless unique and drinkable.

November 5, 2018 - Small tasting glass @ VINEUM, so a brief note...Not a good level, cork barely managed to get out in one piece even using the Durand so not so great expectations! But...The wine survived! Very fine, elegant and not at all tired or tiring. Thanks for bringing this bottle!

January 4, 2018 - Gifted by a friend. Provenance known. Spent its life on its side, but not temperature controlled. The cork was a trick to get out. It was wet, but ready to fall apart. Almost all of the cork came out and the rest was filtered with mesh. Gentle decant. Tawny color. Really intriguing nose with lots of leather, tobacco and old furniture/attic. The little fruit left was sour cherry. This was way better than drinkable but only for about 45 minutes then it got pretty rough. For a weak vintage, this 45 year old wine was very interesting to try and the nose for quite awhile was a real treat. Not scored.

July 21, 2017 - Purchased bottle in 2015 from an a German auction house, and was flown thee times across the Atlantic due to a shipping error.

The cork appeared in good condition, but was soft and ready to fail. It came out in three pieces. The bottle had a moderate amount of extremely fine and somewhat bitter sediment.

Very light upon opening. Underwhelming at first. Opened up within a few minutes into more complexity. Strong floral nose. Quite brandy-like, with a deep background nutty flavor. This bottle was on its last legs, but was worth the novelty of drinking a LR of this age. We enjoyed it alongside a robust Hacienda de Encinillas Cabernet blend from Chihuahua, Mexico. Probably the first and only time in history those two wines will be drunk side by side.
