September 13, 2023 - BYOB dinner NOTK (Rotterdam): Medium+ intensity with barnyard, leather, cherries, dried black and red fruit, some VA, mushrooms. Medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, long finish

    A lovely aged Bordeaux!

September 7, 2023 - In a vertical tasting this was my positive surprise of the night. Sandwiched between the 05 and 89, this held it’s own as an outstanding vintage, and I imagine one of the best Haut Medocs of the vintage….the high merlot content clearly helping. Excellent depth of fruit, vivacity, and balance

August 19, 2023 - One of the most profound clarets I have ever tasted. This is why we age Bordeaux! At 25 years old, this is elegant, poised, complex, aromatic—simply magnificent. 100

June 1, 2023 - Dinner at avec River North (Chicago, IL): Not convinced this was representative. There was too much VA here -- made me think this could have been some sort of Italian wine instead.

November 21, 2022 - Wine Workshop: Chateau Palmer (Benoit): This needed a bit more time to open up in the glass. First impression was a bit shy especially compared to some others in the flight but once it had some air it became a lot rounder and more inviting. Very plushy in style. Well balanced. I imagine may benefit from some more time.
