March 5, 2021 - Poured blind. It's been a decade since I last tasted one of these, and it still remains alive and doing well. I do sense of some cedar starting to reflect around the fruit so in that way, the age is beginning to work its way into the flavor. Balsamic/tar, strawberry, cherry and some purple notes into the finish. Overall, I would sum this up best as boysenberry in flavor. Retasted the following morning, the wine had loosened up, with the fruit becoming more generous and plush. At 15 years this is doing very well and perhaps is finding its apex, depending on what you prefer in your wine (age or freshness, or when the two cross, a little of both which is where I see the wine now).

December 3, 2019 - Dark fruit (cherry, blueberry), slight spice, slight olive? Good acidity. Bright fruit. Really enjoyable.

December 1, 2018 - More restrained and backward than the 2006 Aria’s I had recently. These wines seems to be aging like a dream. Dark ruby core with a violet rim, no signs of bricking. Blackberry, wet asphalt, bacon, lavender. Beautiful fruit and acidity with the tannins still firm. Will probably age my last bottle for at least another ten years.

February 19, 2017 - Inky dark ruby, savory bramble nose. My last bottle, night one and a good run for 10 years, a lot of the bacon fat meatiness has morphed into a bold savory beef blood more earthy wine. Strong acid remains and some hefty stone fruit tannins ensure continued future enjoyment for those still possessing bottles. Still best with food, i would do BBQ, roast or grilled beef and lamb.
