  December 15, 2017 - Earthy and smooth. Decanted for 1 hour before drinking. Loved this wine.

  January 10, 2014 - Dark garnet red. Black cherry on the nose with a very distinct black liquorice scent. After a couple of hours in open bottle and giving it a chance to warm from cellar temperature, this gained some weight. I'm tempted to save some until tomorrow to see if it develops further, but I don't think that is going to happen. I bought 2 of these a few years ago and gave 1 as a gift. Too bad. I would like to try this again.

  December 18, 2012 - After a few hours in the decanter it got better, but not that much. Too much Oak, and otherwise a little off with some astringent elements choking off the fruit. Generally smooth but for the astringent elements. I don't think the bottle was flawed; it just isn't that great.

  April 20, 2012 - Nice and spicy/peppery zinfindel. Time to drink this bottle as it is peaking. Dark inky hue, big dark berries, oak/spice/pepper, full bodied.

  November 21, 2010 - Big complex wine with lots of extract and thich with glycerine. Very distictive nose and taste compared to the five others tasted this evening. Clearly stood out compared to the Russian River and Napa zins tasted this evening. At first there was a funky taste that some coudl not get pasat. I found strong black cherry flavors that at firstg seemed so thick that one almost thought of cough syrup. Long finish that coated the palate. Two days later it was was strong and fruit forward, but the funky taste was gone and repalced by smooth bright cherry fruit. My favorite ofhte night.
