May 2, 2017 - 1997 RIDGE PAGANI RANCH SONOMA VALLEY MATARO [MOURVEDRE] [4 btls]- blended with 23% Zinfandel; a fruit bomb that hits the WOW factor big time; loaded with fresh, ripe cherry/ berry notes, it sings a happy tune.

Structured (m+ acid and m+ tannins, though developed). Stewed red fruits. -

August 21, 2012 - Transparent deep garnet color. Using a screwpull, the cork came apart leaving a third behind, but no other issues. After decanting an hour, nice nose emerges with concentrated blackberries and cherries, and some wood and earth notes. Tastes with a delightful concentration of berry and cherry fruit flavors and is still tart, tannins are minimal, and some earthy, pebble notes, with a long, peppery, earthy and tart finish. Really delightful.
