December 11, 2011 - Vegetal nose. Based on the smell, if I didn't know what this was, I might have said it was Cabernet. Palate features ripe red fruits like red currant, cherry and strawberry. Finish brings on a bit of oak spice - in a balanced way, thankfully. Medium acidity and firm but integrated tannins. This is going to sound crazy, but the wine paired amazingly with lemon. Granted, this lemon was poached for over an hour in olive oil (with some other veggies), but still, it just exploded with flavor when matched with the wine, extending the finish considerably. Not something I would have expected from a red. P.S. I wouldn't wait any longer on this one.

March 30, 2011 - Pop and pour. Very nice layers of black fruit on the palate with a nice long finish. Others in the family liked it even more than me.

July 16, 2010 - Patience is a virtue when you wait in the taxi line at Penn Station -- it can seem like years before you dive into the comfort of a friendly cab. Finally, when a cab is ready for you, you jump in. At first, you're a bit surprised by the spicy bitterness of the driver. Thankfully, he offers you a bit of fruit for the ride. In the end, as the city flies by, and you take in the attitude of the city and the sweetness of the fruit, you welcome back an old friend.
