January 14, 2016 - Not as lush as it was when young, but now possesses a pretty good structure. Its drinking better than it was 2 years ago (when it was disjointed and unpleasant) but not likely to improve. Kirsh and boysenberry with a hint of cocoa.

June 3, 2012 - Full throttle, rich, concentrated, and well balanced. Decidedly new world, but worked well - the nose delivers with dark fruit and smoky notes, the palate was savory and well integrated, and the finish was dry with good length and loads of pepper. The wine held up nicely but unravled a bit on day 2. Good effort.

December 25, 2011 - A really big, dark fruit wine. Earthy and smoked meat with blackberry, black pepper and oak notes. Really enjoyed this on Christmas.
