July 15, 2019 - Some tannins left, but little fruit. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. The body is medium. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes short with high acidity. Definitely a shadow of the previous wine.

October 30, 2014 - This is my first bottle of the 2005 Memento. Had 2004 and 2006 a few years back and decided to let all of these rest in the cellar for a bit. Was pleased with this decision as this was very smooth and silky without the immense tannins that I experienced with those other vintages when they were younger. Still very dark, almost opaque very dark purple in color. Nose of dark fruits with hints of cedar. Flavor profile is still primary cabernet but starting to develop a touch of secondary characteristics. A very nice silky texture with a 45-60 second finish. This is now approachable and very drinkable now. Should be able to hang out in the cellar for another 5 years or so and continue to improve in that time.

October 1, 2010 - Allowed to decant for 7+ hours. Wow!! Lovely nose of dark fruit, hint of mint, slight earth. Palate of dark, dark fruit. Finish of fruit and vanilla. Very smooth. Can probably set several more years and continue to improve.

April 2, 2010 - Huge full body wine. All day decant and then some. Built for the very long haul. Ripe blackberry, raspberry, black cherry. Heavy tannins build to dry a bit. I've enjoyed the 06 bottle and 07 from the barrel a bit more than this 05 based on the tannins versus the fruit. I'll age the rest for many years....94+
