July 16, 2020 - at peak but still on the upside Slight tannin on opening dissipates in 20 min, one of the best burgs I've ever drunk. The snobs who don't like Laurent aren't aging it long enuf.

September 3, 2018 - brilliantly deep. Super ripe cherries, almost a Barolo-like shoe polish note. Very deep, rich and round. Wonderful.

December 31, 2017 - Deep ruby core with a dark fruited nose laced with spice and showing immediate promise. After an hour in the glass this really opened up, deeply fruited with layers of mostly darker fruit notes, medium bodied, fine tannins, good acidity, smooth texture, long finish, a serious wine. This really reminds me of recent bottles of Chevillion's NSG Vaucrains and Roumier's MSD clos de la Bussiere, each show that dark, rich, spicy and engaging side of Burgundy

February 7, 2017 - will get even better

February 26, 2015 - Burgundy & Birds (il Buco): By Tim Farrell of BWE

Both wines in the flight seemed a bit shut down, most due to the overwhelming tannins of both. Yes, it's a gruff, rustic, cru, but this one seemed particularly disjointed. The body was huge and the fruit was dark, but the aromas gave off pruney, slightly over the hill notes. Maybe a little off?
