August 28, 2017 - Decanted for an hour. Seven years later and this has calmed down a lot. The nose is refined violets and red cherry, even a bit of rose petal. The palate is elegant fruit, red cherry with a strong dose of tannins. In a very nice spot now, goes well with eg lasagne, good stuff!

February 8, 2010 - Piemonte ilta (Ravintola Viinille): Had been in the glass for a while when I tasted it. A nice pale orangeish red. The nose is heavy on red cherries, some oak showing through as well as tobacco, a round feel to it. On the palate this is loaded with tannins, really dries out the mouth, but not too much acidity, quite fruity with some sweetness to it. Interesting to try this, as I have a bottle in the cellar. This appears to be very modern in style, I think I'll leave my bottle alone for some years more to see if it calms down a bit. 50+5+10+15+8=88

December 15, 2009 - Cherry and strawberry, liquorice, tar, dark floral notes, some truffle and manchego cheese on the nose.
Medium bodied on the palate with refreshing acidity and notable tannins. Some salt liquorice and tar as well as slight hints of toffee and coffee in the lenghty finish. Some more bottle age could definitely bring more elegance. But already this was quite nice - with the right exposure to air.
Just after the opening the wine seemed quite murky and graceless but it got much better with air. I was however overoptimistic when I left half the bottle for the next day. So, a few hours of decanting seems adequate.

December 14, 2009 - This wine took about 3 hours to open up. It now has a nice floral nose. Still quite tannic with some berries – perhaps cherries with some tones of leather.
