February 12, 2024 - Burgundies, Blanc et Rouges (Sta. Rita Hills, CA): A bonus taste shared by our host from a bottle opened the night before. This remained fresh and energetic, with savory notes, some forest floor and a velvety texture. A killer bottle and great way to conclude our evening.

September 9, 2023 - Translucent garnet with some bricking at the rim. A very savory nose of fresh turned soil, crushed stone, and dark bramble fruit in the background. The palate is light and elegant, with a bright character and silky texture. There is some sweet cherry flavor that emerges on the finish, framed with some light tannins which are still hanging on. This is a marvelous expression of Savigny, drinking at maturity. It's hard to imagine this improving, though the tannins may continue to melt a bit. If you've been waiting on this, you should open one.

December 5, 2021 - Medium brick red in color. High toned aromas of pine/resin, dried florals, hummus, forest floor and sour red berries. Medium bodied palate shows tart light red cherries, savory/saline notes, good acidity, no tannins and a medium earth/floral finish.

April 29, 2021 - There’s still some structure here, but with air drinking really quite well. Snappy acids, perceptible but integrated tannin, fairly plush fruit. Reddish (cherry, raspberry) fruit, some earth tones, hint of cocoa. Smoky note as it evolves. In a nice place, but no hurry, but think my last of these- sad. B++

June 29, 2020 - Beautiful crystalline ruby in color. High-toned aromas of red berries, florals, underbrush and touch of pine on the nose. Super silky palate shows mildly sweet-tart red raspberries/cherries, minerals, good acidity and an earth and floral inflected finish. This is drinking beautifully now.
