January 27, 2019 - The 1st of my 3 bottles. Purchased for $36 on release. Opened at Lao Sze Chuan in Chinatown. The cork came out in one piece although a little soft. Gold yellow color. Rich and very deep. Notes of pears, tropical fruit and stone fruit with fine minerality and a long finish. Excellent balance between the sweetness and acidity. Still drinking well on day 2 as well. This was the best Christoffel wine I have had (22 notes total). I liked it better than either the 2001 or 2003 UW Auslese*** wines. It is in a really fine place right now. 96 points.

September 9, 2017 - #14-02, 8% abv. A very classic riesling nose, with a fair bit of rusticity here -- there's a generous helping of earth and dirt, but it is supplemented with a touch of petrol, green herbs, and ripe yellow fruit. The palate has a surprisingly rich and dense texture and is fairly sweet (a bit more so than I expected), with some honeyed characteristics. This has some of the great 2001 acidity as well, which balances out the sweetness perfectly. Although there aren't any flavours I would call "rustic" here, this is wine of a different era -- it has none of the glossy white-fruited polish of the rieslings being produced today.

December 8, 2016 - Well look what Al showed up with :) The nose is cool and minty, good fruit, cumin, peach, lime, herbal, lime, minty-leafy. Huge and growing finish with mint, herbs and lime. Didn't get a formal note/score, but delicious.

July 6, 2015 - This was phenomenal. Jumps out of the glass with cherries and red berries, tons of gingery spice, watermelon, papaya, and lots of earth. Dense and concentrated, but streamlined by the 2001 acidity, with intense earthy minerals and great length, where despite the ripeness it tastes like limes due to the acidity. Puts on weight and length with air and becomes more powerful and earthy. Wonderful and maybe just as good as the ***, though different in style.

July 2, 2014 - Big and sweet on the nose - honey, strawberry. This is crystalline in focus, very 01. Cool, menthol-herbal. Big on the palate again with honey - the acid/sugar balance is great. Spice, lime, tart and honey finish. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.
