April 5, 2024 - Stunning. 20 years old and you’d hardly know it. So approachable, and well balanced. Not at all lacking in fruit, with ample tannins and acid to go. Dark and brooding to the eye, slight pink garnet at very edge. Fresh dark berries on the nose, with a shot of black currant (think Ribena), cloves, rosemary. Rich on the palate, with fine tannins - super long finish, ending with cigar tobacco. The balance improves steadily over the next hour. So good, it’s easy to forgive the slight hint of residual sugar. (Cellared from release).

March 31, 2023 - I’ve always liked this wine, and it seems to just keep getting better with age in the cellar. Everything perfect, no apparent bricking in the color, great nose, and very well balanced on the palate, with fruit and acid still in balance. Very pleasantly surprised. Astonishing value to carry this long.

December 25, 2022 - Still drinking really well. Could maybe have even benefited from short decant.

October 13, 2020 - I'll echo the below. What a sensational value this was (is). Holding up extremely well with no signs of decline or oxidation. A powerhouse with all the good stuff you hope to find in a Toro. Further, I found the smoke/tar to be quite pronounced, which I enjoyed very much, and a tertiary meaty/leather note in addition to the dark fruit notes and a whiff of creamy/toasty oak. Very well balanced. A huge joy to drink and surpassing my fairly high expectations. Love it when that happens
