December 15, 2012 - Still drinking quite well. Alas this was my last bottle.

March 24, 2012 - Not bad. This wine is a 50% grenache, 25 Temp and 25 Cab Sauv combo. Can't make mention of cork as it was tossed before I got back. The nose out of the bottle was all very sweet, with sort of a nostril stinging quality. The wine was not decanted (and now I'm thinking it should have been). The initial flavor was a little flat on flavor - maybe some plum, raisin, and some licorice but that was about it besides the mild to moderate earthy quality that this one had and very high acidity. I'm actually a bit surprised at the LACK of earthiness, but I guess the 25 cab did a good job. The flavors initially were all tending more towards the sweet side with a very unforgiving tart finish. The wine was enjoyed with hummus, tomato bisque and a reuben sandwich. Hummus was a PERFECT pairing to this wine, bringing out the black pepper spice characteristics that others had mentioned (and I DIDN'T really get until I had something to balance the acid). As the wine opened up over the next 3 hours, the remaining 50 percent of the bottle was slowly consumed. The wine started to show a much more relaxed disposition, even having some kind of a floral note on the nose, but the pepper spice combined with the plum qualities (and even some kind of dark chocolate flavor that crept its way in), did a great job of actually making this one multi-dimensional with mild tannin throughout. Earthy characteristics were actually toned down, but still there. If I had consumed the entire bottle at dinner, it would have been an 86, but holding it and watching how it opened up quite nicely without food and with passage of time made me kick this rating up a bit.

February 19, 2012 - Fairly good, a little tart on the finish. More to try.

October 20, 2011 - Inky purple color. Some licorice and jammy fruit on the nose, as well as floral notes. On the palate, concentrated and intense; deep black fruits with a bite of licorice and chocolate. Nice acidity, smooth tannins; long finish. Good QPR.

June 1, 2011 - Consistent with prior note, and even slightly better. Very spicy for a grenache, and very good.
