December 26, 2021 - Deep, dense, smooth and integrated. Medium-plus to full bodied. A background of dried, dark fruit, dried black cherries, fig paste and prunes, with savory overtones of dried brush, damp earth, iodine, dried beef and dried mushroom. Lingering finish of dark, jammy fruit and savory sous bois. No need to wait.. drinkin’ great now.

April 22, 2021 - Saved this bottle in my cellar for what I thought was maybe too long. Dinner with friends was my chance to open it and see where it was. We planned a pan seared ribeye with quinoa and butternut squash. Opened the wine about an hour before dinner and tasted. Surprisingly it was still a bit closed with scents of dark fruit, a bit of wood, and some moist soil. On the pallet it was more dark fruit, blackberry, pepper, and leather. The finish didn't carry on initially, but was sweet and leaned to the fruit. After an hour and with dinner the wine, which was not decanted, came up nicely. The same flavors remained except the distinctness of each improved and the finish now carried on nicely with fruit and pepper then turning to wood, leather, and a hint of cigar. This wine was a great surprise and paired well with the food. I wish I had more of this and if you are lucky enough to still have some enjoy it soon. I think it is still in a great spot. Cheers
