April 24, 2024 - Surprised this had even a little life left. Some fruit and spice sticking out.

May 23, 2021 - Wineapolooza in Atlanta; 5/21/2021-5/23/2021 (My house): I love old Napa cabs and now I can say the same for Sonoma. This wine was in great shape and absolutely delicious. Started out a bit pruney but after a few minutes it was gloriously fruity and accented with graphite and burnt caramel. This was a real treat from Mark.

May 23, 2021 - OMG.....I did not expect this, not at $66/bottle. I have been a big fan of Mr. Arrowood for near 20 years. Sad to have seen his retirement last year even though it was well deserved. This was but his 2nd vintage under his own label after leaving Chateau St. Jean. I don't know what this one scored in its early years and I don't know what its true lifespan was to be but this one is still performing well, even at this late date. Definitely brickish red in the glass......with a light orange watery rim. Sampled a few minutes after the pnp into a decanter and enjoyed over the next 3 hours!......pruney old nose starts to blow off within 5 minutes revealing a bright red cherry fruit with a graphite, burnt caramel/toffee sense to it. Suffice it to say that if you like truly classic, old Napa cabs, this one would be right up your alley. If you go back to CDunn's note here from 2010, that pretty much says it all....just a little older now. I am particularly impressed as this is the 'basic' cab not the 'Reserve Speciale' which is always a step above. What a great legacy Mr. Arrowood has left behind for us! Thanks you sir, it has been a pleasure to meet you and enjoy your wines for these many years!

October 24, 2015 - Nice, layered and moderately complex aromatics with red fruit, spice, earth and tobacco. Young feel on the palate with still vibrant acidity providing freshness. Cassis, spice, herbs and dusty earth.
