February 21, 2023 - High toned, lipstick, glossy. Dark fruit. Rich, heady/alcoholic.

February 21, 2023 - Simon Beatty Memorial Dinner, Clos St Jacques table (Noizé, London): Wow, the nose leaps out of the glass here, seriously impressive, hedonistic perfume, a bit floral, cherry fruit, lightly spiced, palate staining intensity in the mouth, strong acidity and almost minty. Really a bit too young for full enjoyment but super to try now, it will be incredible in another 10 years

February 21, 2023 - Simon Beatty’s memorial dinner, CSJ table (Noizé, London): Quite a bright deep garnet. Spice, heather, lavender and a hint of bacon frazzles. Cherry fruit.Lots of breadth. Chewy frame supported by tannin. Currently not much length but opens nicely. Producer’s gloss coupled with vineyard sits across the nose to give a Nuits that wants to be Vosne. ***(*’

May 9, 2021 - Nose is immediately beautiful and has lush and striking black and red cherry. Has faint earth influence but is more about the powerful fruit and glorious perfume at this point. More Vosne than Nuits in character, unsurprisingly, and reminiscent of the brilliant '99s a few weeks ago. This is a big wine but it is already refined and silky. Given how fresh and strong those older bottles were I would sty to save these '02s as long as I could, even though it is beautiful drinking right now. Every bit as impressive as a highly showy '02 DRC RSV at lunch this afternoon. 94 - 95.

February 25, 2020 - On the darker side of the cherry spectrum. Flavors are deep but with less black and blue flavors than you sometimes find with this producer. Slightly clunky compared to the Amoureuses in the next glass. Tasted alongside the 01 Vogue Amoureuses and Rousseau CSJ, this one held its own, but didn't dominate. The 3 wines were equally voted as WOTN. My own choice was the Rousseau.
