July 10, 2021 - A very old wine. When we first opened it, I thought it was going to be off. After a few minutes it was clear that it was just a very old white. It plateaued in about 15 to 20 minutes and held a good flavor that went well with grilled chicken and vegetables.

March 20, 2011 - Very typical, a lot of wet wool and honey, long in after taste

September 10, 2009 - Delicious golden-hued color. Captivating nose that shows some age and oxidation, but it's full of crisp fruit and minerals, with an intriguing richness behind it. In the mouth, quite lush and fleshy, but it has this undeniable linear focus that cuts a nice swath across the tongue. Bright acidity even still. Strong finish. Very tasty. A-

July 11, 2009 - Yellow to gold rim, moderate + depth of color. The nose is quite classic for aged Chenin with moderately + intense pineapple, wet wool, wet stone, and honey having replaced most of the quince/apple of youth. The wine is dry, has high acidity, a full and wide midpalate, a smooth and tapered finish with lowish alcohol. Excellent balance, very good length. An interesting wine in that the intensity and complexity on the nose slightly exceeds that on the palate. Tasted over three days and by the third the wine was showing a little wear. I would say that the intellectual satisfaction of this wine would exceed the pleasure factor for most tasters. One of the more "appellationally typical" Baumards I have had and has plenty of life ahead though I don't think it will get crazy good with time. Impressive as this is by no means from their best Chenin vineyards... even more impressive as not many $20 bottles of white wine do these sorts of things.

August 24, 2008 - Similar to the previous bottle, although even tighter at first; would have easily gone another ten years at least.
