May 11, 2012 - You never know what you'll find when someone says "look in that fridge and grab something." I don't recall ever having a Ravenswood Cab Franc. What a treat. I am sure this was dirt cheap back then and I am sure over the years this has had some questionable storage. That said, all was well with this wine. Full bodied. Resolved tannins. A bit of grit on the texture. I guess I would say velvety. Drinking well now. Still showing dark fruits but certainly leaning more to a rocky and earthy phase. Great stuff. I doubt I would have saw this wine in 1997 and said, "you know, just store this in a box in your garage for 15 years. Then it will be awesome".
