May 9, 2022 - tart dark cherry fruit with a little tar and wood. If I were tasting this blind I might have guessed it was a traditionally made chianti. Over time, more of the Syrah character came out. Great bottle - no need to hold further.

July 20, 2021 - Was poured two mystery glasses and immediately called this as Verset. Sounds impressive, but my sample size was small. LOL, anyway...

Wild and animalistic wine with hints of tar, dried spices, dark fruit, and a touch of funk that I associated with a prior bottle (1988). Lacked the silky body and the deeper complexity I was hoping for, but always a joy to drink nonetheless.

May 12, 2017 - Remarkable wine with plenty of finesse to go with dark cherry and dark plum fruit plus a bit of spice. Outstanding length, lovely velvet texture. This was lot L1, so the spring bottling.

September 23, 2016 - Various qualities of bottling. The best a deep kind of stink-and-raspberry experience, very much classic old-style Cornas; at worst they were a little less exuberant, although nothing remotely suggesting these need rapid consumption!

September 29, 2015 - Senndoff (Adrian's Apartment - Chicago, IL): The young vine-ness of the wine comes out here. The profile of the wine is high-toned and fleshy and, frankly, lacks complexity or depth at this point. Has some nice cranberry and mushroom tones, but this paled in comparison next to the 2006 and 1999.
