March 15, 2017 - Medium garnet to ruby red. Nose has notes of dark cocoa, burnt tires, and dried berries. Moderate tannins (5/10) and solid acidity.

February 21, 2014 - Although a gentle blend of Stellenbosch's best, I guess I must be heathen in my flavour expectations having not found my bottle to be excessively hot or otherwise dead on arrival. In fairness it peaked about four hours after opening; soft tannin, well-behaved pinotage, elegant cabernet. A good companion for the grilled lamb chops.

April 8, 2012 - The last bottle I had of this 6 months ago seemed just past peak and it was time to drink up, and this bottle totally confirms that. Hot, medicinal, disjointed -- just a shell of its former self. Too bad, really -- I have absolutely loved the other 10 bottles I've gone through. Ah well...

November 7, 2011 - NobleRottersSydney - South Africa (Alio's, Surry Hills): [cork, 14.5%, A$44] {Stephen} Cab-sauvignon, merlot, pinotage and even some shiraz make up this wine. Four ladies? The nose doesn’t seem to be aging particularly, but does seem to be brett-affected. To me there’s a part-metallic, part-medicinal aspect to the aromas which suppresses whatever fruit was here. Palate has plenty of powdery tannins still, along with an acid-like tartness, but still seems stripped somehow. Very mysterious; it’s hard to find identifiable flavours here, just an oddly chemical taste. I don’t think it’s cooked, and it’s certainly not corked. Still, I’d be surprised if this is typical of this wine, which has a much better reputation than what’s on offer here. A pity.

October 13, 2011 - Good wine. Good QPR. Paired well with steaks off the grill.
    Would buy again.
