July 18, 2021 - Nahe night at Table, Donkey and Stick (Chicago, IL): From magnum. Overall the sense I got from this was others at the table liked it more than I did. Its nose is very sweet and biscuity, with pretty much the same on the palate. There is a sweetness that feels out of place (as if the dosage was too high) and then not much else on the palate despite that. I revisited this wine at the end and while the flavour seemed to have deepened a little bit, it was mostly still that sweet biscuity note that dominated. Additionally I couldn't find much fruit on this overall. Somewhat disappointing.

March 4, 2021 - Opened for my birthday and this was quite good and some slight hint of age. Crisp and delish although personally not feeling great so not sure I trust personal impressions

September 18, 2016 - No detailed TN taken but this was delicious, silky on the palate with a long finish.

(URSULES Roses de Jeanne C. Bouchard) Champagne Dear Friends, This one goes without saying... I've touted the wonder of Cedric Bouchard ad finitum over the last few years which culminated in the 2002 Roses de Jeanne "Creux d'Enfer" as my Wine of the Year in 2007. There is much to say regarding this top artisan but quantities have become scarce since the WA last month so I will simply say, this is a gorgeous wine that will outclass 99% of the Blanc de Noir being produced in the environs of Reims and Epernay. As one of the highest rated Champagne's of the year (it received the same rating as Krug and Clos de Goisses, among other wines at 2-5 times the price), the Ursules has taken on a life of its own over the last few weeks and we're just fortunate that ours was already on the water when the issue came out at the end of December: This wine is the work of one of the young geniuses of European wine culture and it has few if any peers for its style. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a show of stars falling from the sky on a crystal clear winter's eve: (2006) Cedric Bouchard (Roses de Jeanne) "Les Ursules" Blanc de Noir EXTREMELY LIMITED (only 200-300 cases produced as opposed to 20,000 of something like Krug Grande Cuvee) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Champ9810
