March 10, 2010 - Deep coral/salmon pink. Lovely lush nose of rose petals, ripe red berries, and melon.
Surprisingly sweet - the nose does suggest sweetness, but not this much. Definitely off-dry to possibly even semi-sweet - significant RS. Much sweeter than I like my rosé.. There's some nice acid but not enough to balance the sweetness, and lots of ripe stonefruit - peach, cherry, - as well as candy strawberry and ripe, ripe melon. Some heft gives this wine good mouthfeel and body but makes it a bit cloying and less refreshing than I'd like. The finish is another surprise - quite long, zesty and mineral, marred by an apple juice aftertaste.
Too sweet and cloying after a few sips - I can't drink this.
