July 1, 2020 - Very well made. Deep spice leather and dark fruit. I think it will do well for another five years at least.

March 29, 2012 - Very spicy nose. Aromas of bacon grease and grilled meat. Some boysenberry pie. Lots of dried leaves and fruit. Also, graphite, mineral and spice. Very funky. Big dried red fruit flavors. Sassafrass and some herbaceous qualities.

March 28, 2010 - Another classic Broman Napa Valley wine.. subtle smoky flavors very much like his Cab, very nice balance between fruit and acid, good tannin base, great structure, a more new world Syrah, no tart fruit here, 100% Syrah, almost 15% alcohol, 28 months in French oak, I suspect 30% new since I can actually smell the fruit unlike so many new "cult" wines. At 28 months, you can see that Broman tends to hold onto his wine a bit longer then most, so his 2004 is his current release, just like his cab. I'm beginning to sound like a broken record as it related to Broman, but this is a really nice drinking Syrah and at $24 it's worth every penny. Nice soft velvety mouth-feel, just enough oak to seduce you into the bottle.. another classic Broman style Syrah. I'll be stocking up on this one.

December 5, 2009 - Sweet, fruity without being about any particular fruit; herbal, borderline medicinal nose. No depth or earthiness. Very disappointing, especially considering the source of this gift.

May 23, 2009 - $18. Popped and poured in a large group. Did not take formal notes, but this wine was pleasant and one-dimensional -- a bit sweet with kind of "fake fruit" flavors. No earthy syrah flavors. Mid-palate and finish were not very long. I will not buy more at any price.
