Community Tasting Notes 4

February 3, 2021 - First Wednesday Wine Club (Napoli in Bocca, Haberfield): Served blind.
Herbaceous, wet, brambles backed by sweet spice, meaty notes, leather. In the mouth the immediacy of the massive, tight grippy tannins is a shock, there are leathery notes, brambly fruit and plentiful alcohol heat as well as a bit of tomato leaf.
This has me stumped - the only thing I could equate it to was a 2nd/3rd order early 00's Margaret River Cabernet that had fallen apart over time (e.g. Graylyn, Amberly etc)

December 31, 2011 - Good (80-84), unimpressed, but I had it before and it was very good. will try again...can't explain the difference

June 4, 2008 - Ruby red inky and dense. Notes of black fruits, grosseys and some of leather. Is a medium body kind of wine with an excellent balance. silky and kindfull. very elegant wine. Got a lot character with best potencial cellar wines.
Another good blend from altimus. on my taste best year until now.
