  August 20, 2013 - Took a chance and tried this from the back discount rack of a retailer. Fortunately, it was stored correctly on his shelf for several years. We have most of what we expect from a slightly aged Merlot, Chilean style. First off, the color is darker than Merlot from most of the region of which we are familiar. The nose has that typical Chilean charcoal and tree root influence to the basically ripe black fruit. There is a forest floor rusticity and evergreen flavor to the blackberry and black cherry fruit. Integrated by now. The alcohol is noticeable, though mostly, like the other flavor components, pretty well integrated. The bottle age has only enhanced the flavor profile, though it is probably time to drink up. A little grainy on the finish with a good amount of secondary, Chilean style secondary flavors of pepper, tar, roots and cola on the finish.

  December 30, 2011 - - Ruby color with medium forming legs and aromas of blackberry, raspberry and black currant. It's balanced and has flavours of phenolic, alcohol and dusty with a medium body. Round texture with a medium finish - Balanced, ruby red, medium to long finish. Berries and fruits.
