October 5, 2022 - Bordeaux/Cabernet with Special Guest Lail (Orsay): My surprise of the night. Haven't had a lot of experience with this wine and the few I've had were more from the 90's at which point I think they might have lost some of the special sauce. This was drinking incredibly well. From a magnum. It has a lot of dark fruits and a bit more unctuous notes and generally just interesting.

November 6, 2020 - Explosive aromas of minty plum and cherry fruit with underlying bell pepper and tobacco. Round, plush, sweet and juicy fruit belies the wines age. Timeless!

November 23, 2018 - Old Cabernet Sauvignon. Still has Cab character and some tannin. Has softened and shows a touch of underlying sweetness. A little acidity on the tongue. An amazing survivor.

November 6, 2018 - The wine was double decanted to serve. Nose initially showed autum leave, dirt, iron, earth and plum fruit. Although it was a thin in the first 45 mins, it was lifted by bright acidity. After an hour, the wine evolved into a deeper and richer aged napa. The sweetness emerged on the palate with some drying tannins. Long and expansive with complexity. 92-93

May 24, 2017 - At close to 45 years of age, this still has its old school charm intact, with its tobacco, cedar wood, cassis and tart, red berry profile. Medium/full bodied, and with a bit too much tart over sweet fruit, with rustic tannins in the finish, it's still a fun look back at the old school, California Cabernet Sauvignon.
