Community Tasting Notes 33

March 28, 2020 - Literally found an uncataloged bottle, must of miscounted when racking this wine. Lost most of its bigger floral notes, but wasn't one dimensional or just an alcohol bomb. Nose had some oak and some subtle berry. Palate had a mild red wine flavor with some tartness (cherry?), currant and a bit of cola, with a moderate smooth finish.

November 23, 2017 - Def passed its prime but you could tell it was nice

November 12, 2017 - Still enjoyable and drinkable, with sufficient fruit, but fading

July 25, 2017 - PnP at a local Italian restaurant. Dusty cherry and plum nose. Black cherry, currant and powdered mocha palate. Pairing with Bolognese sauce brought out an allspice component. First bottle I've had of this vintage so I can't say how it's aging but it didn't quite live up to the 2004 we opened a couple months earlier. Last glass was very tart due to some light sediment and/or tartrate crystals, so recommend a short decant or use of a filtered pour spout. Overall a nice wine but somewhat unremarkable.

February 18, 2017 - Feels like it is thinned out, some nose left but not much, palate is okay, with a light finish. Nothing to get excited about anymore. Definitely drink now if you got any left!
