July 19, 2021 - Still dark and opaque. Moderate intensity nose, typical dark fruit and smoke syrah aromas. Has softened, but one dimensional. Nice, but time to drink up.

November 8, 2020 - very dark red, almost black - huge nose of raspberries, raspberries, raspberries (purposeful epizeuxis!) - same fruit in the mouth with a big full body with bright acidity and mature tannins - 20-30 sec finish - a beautiful example of an Aussie fruit bomb that has matured into an elegant but still very powerful syrah - compared to the 2002 Clarendon Hills Syrah tasted at the same time, less complexity but much bigger and brighter fruit

June 30, 2020 - Last Tuesday Supper Club (One Penny Red, Summer Hill): Initially gamey, slightly oxidised then toast, coffee, black pepper and spiced blackberry, leather, earth. Juicy, savoury, blackberry, black pepper, black tea, softly tannic. Pleasing.

February 15, 2020 - A little disappointing. Primary fruit characteristics have largely disappeared. What’s left is a very savory flavor of stewed plus and tar. Tannins have softened - but are still there and with M+ acid give the wine a good structure and full body. Finish not as long as expected. Aroma quite subdued. No reason to store this any longer.

February 26, 2019 - Drank this at Cafe de Hong Kong last night with a group of wine enthusiasts.

Was double decanted before pouring. Colour was still dark red, with wild notes of berries, fresh red fruits, liquorice, coffee and black olives. A blend of 92% Shiraz & 8% Viognier, the white grape adds another dimension of pleasure and enjoyment to the Shiraz, uplifting the enjoyment of this wine to a higher level.

August 14, 2018 - Opened and decanted 30 minutes. Good tannins, not big fruit. Drinks well. 91-92.
Next day, wow. Much improved with ample dark berries fruit well integrated with tannins. 95, maybe 96. Long satisfying finish.

July 30, 2018 - Big expressive nose. Raspberries and red licorice. A nice core of acidity and freshness. A bit of pepper on the medium-long finish. Well made.

June 30, 2018 - Rich, dark fruit on the nose and palate. Tannins have softened. Still youthful. Heavy, highly extracted, big fruit style.
