August 17, 2019 - Some bricking at the rim with a deep garnet core. The nose is brilliant with mineral and ripe fruit elements including notes of plum, slate, brown sugar, and forest floor. The palate is rich and balanced with seductive fruit, fresh acidity, and resolved tannins. Solid complexity with great persistence, at 20 years of age this wine offers a ton of value.

February 18, 2016 - Parting gift from ex-boss. Pop and poured. Drank from bottle over 2 hours.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, nice smelly earth ?slight barnyard, undergrowth, black cherries, dark red plums, tobacco, menthol, sweet spice. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (12.5%), silky medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red plums, black cherries, earth, tobacco, menthol, sweet spices, leather. Long grippy finish.
Very good quality. Very polished wine. Drinking at peak now. Drink up over next 2 years.
A now extinct Bordeaux. The last vintage of this Chateau was 2012. The vineyards of Chateau L’Arrosee were merged into Chateau Quintus as they were both owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon, the owners of Chateau Haut Brion.
A fitting end to my work stint that started in 2012.

April 27, 2014 - Atlanta Commanderie de Bordeaux - Spring parlement (Capital City Club Brookhaven): Certainly the most polarizing wine of the night. The nose was strangely muted and on the palate it has an explosive dark fruit flavor on the front but quickly disappeared on the midpalate, with little to no finish. Seemed more like a Syrah. I enjoyed how different it was from everything else, but many others did not.

January 13, 2014 - La Commanderie de Bordeaux à Vancouver - Chateau L’Arrosee (Chambar): Much richer nose than the 96, showing more Merlot-like with richer, darker and more youthful aromas. Nice structure and acid that balances perfectly with the fruit. The most complete wine of the flight and one that shows the strength of the Right Bank in 98. Drink or hold. Excellent.

February 18, 2011 - Decanted and opened up after 1 hour. A tad bit of barnyard on the nose. Nice dry, balanced. Still drinking well.
