July 2, 2022 - Amber color. A lovely Sauternes that punches all the right buttons and is still in good shape. The only drawback is that I detected a bit of bitterness in the mid-palate that I thought indicative of perhaps too much fixed sulfur. 95% semillon, 5% sauvignon blanc. Tasted from a half-bottle.

March 15, 2018 - A delicious dessert wine. A great nose of tangerine, stone fruit and honey. The sweet fruit juice is nicely balanced with a refreshing acidity and a long finish. A wonderful Sauternes with years of life left.

March 28, 2011 - Tasted over three days from a 375. Deep golden color. Summertime peaches and honeyed citrus nose. Very appealing. The palate picks up weight with each day. Sweet, apricot mid palate, yet refreshing from the high acidity present. Long, long long finish on this one. I don't use the word haunting for sweet wine all that often, so maybe lingering or persistent is better. Delicious to be sure.

October 6, 2010 - Bordeaux Class at Red Slate Wine Co. (Red Slate Wine Co., Portland, OR): A delicious nose of angel food cake, pineapple, dried tangerine. Smells very Sauternes. The palate has a bright acidity that sings throughout the entire palate. Nice fruit and botrytis flavors, medium body, medium length finish. The fruit is on the fresher side, due to the acidity this wine dances lightly on the tongue and then leaves with no cloying or off-putting sugars left over. This is a very nice Sauternes that is drinking pretty damn good right now.

July 14, 2010 - This is my first Sauternes, so obviously, my notes should be taken with a grain of salt and regarded probably as a description of the appellation, not the wine. Big blossoming white fig nose with truffle and acorn. Good legs on a rustic gold. Flavors are balanced, yet sweet, however not ruining. Noble profile of cheese rind, simmered gooseberry sans acidity and some grape vines. Chestnut, guanciale, and honey finish out. Wild and beautifully sippable.
