  July 31, 2023 - One of my last bottles and in my opinion fully mature. Very finely grained tannins, medium long finish and a complex nose of dried herbs, meat but also still some raspberry fruit. Absolutely ready for business and to be opened within the next two years. Lovely and with quite some elegance.

  January 6, 2023 - Nach wie vor sehr präsent. Tolle tiefdunkle Farbe mit leichtem Rostschimmer am Rand.
  In der Nase blumig angenehm. Im Mund sehr dicht mit Aromen nach Himbeere, Pflaume, aber auch Teer, kräftige Gewürze.

  December 25, 2022 - aperto assieme al 2006, finisce per esserne un po' la brutta copia: meno intensità e complessità al naso, ancora un po' dominato dalle tostature, e tannini che risaltano, garantendo meno armonia ed equilibrio. Buono ma non eccellente.

  September 12, 2022 - classic monforte dalba stuff, nearing its peak perhaps but still lots of life in it. Aroma is matured but can still find some fresh floral scent not all dried flowers. Fruit is somewhat lacking or rather hiding in the background. Lots of terrior stuff of woodiness, minerals and dried vegetation. Only one bottle, what a pity, this is really good stuff, bottle purchased in Hongkong in 2011.

  February 5, 2022 - Ziegelrot, korrekte Farbe für einen 17jährigen Barolo. Nase nach erwas rotbeerige Frucht aber vor allem Schokolade, Zimt, Sattelleder, Unterholz. Am Gaimen grossartige Balance. Die bislang so aggressiven Tannine zeigen sich nun zivilisiert und sehr harmonisch integriert. Nach wie vor tolle und frische Säure, die rotbeerige Frucht nach Weichsel und Himbeere steht gut dagegen. Ein reifer und weiser Barolo, grossartig! Ist sicherlich noch ein paar Jahre auf diesem Niveau trinkbar aber wer noch viele Flaschen im Keller hat sollte langsam mit dem Trinken beginnen.
