March 27, 2024 - France Planning Dinner & Burgs (Bucheron, MPls): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour plus. Backup bottle number two tonight. Been some time since having this. Lots of iron and minerality, iodone, black cherry, dark raspberry and stony minerality with some gravelly tannins yet. 91+ to 92pts.

February 4, 2024 - From small capped bottles poured for a zoom tasting on 1/25/24. Tasted double blind on 2/3/24. This was horrible on 2/3 from a Zalto Universal - giving nothing except an odd-off aroma of burnt hair. But I hypothesized that the week+ in a small capped bottle in the fridge may have shut this down and so I tried it again the next day (the first taste got air into the small bottle) and I tried it and let it breathe in a Conterno Sensory.

2/4/24: The off smell is gone! Dark cherry and a lot of stones. A little leather and dirt and maybe a bit of something burnt. Some perfume but still it’s a bit reticent. Lots of black cherry and tons of stones. Earthy and some dirt - starts off with some smooth tannins and structure and ends up quite smooth and resolved. A pulse of tart red fruits and acid as the finish starts and it trails off well with the fruit and a pretty pulse of the stoniness at the end. The palate and finish are quiet but they have a sneaky perfume and subtlety. Nose - 4.5-5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5-5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 15.5-17.5/20.

October 27, 2022 - This is drinking at peak right now and better than the 2009. Absolutely spot on and very thing in balance.

February 25, 2022 - PnP. Cork wet about a third. Lovely red fruited nose with a hint of minerality. Silky smooth on the palate with a definite mineral/iron influence on the finish. This is quite elegant and deftly walks across the palate with grace. At peak and drink up.

June 27, 2021 - The cork came out damp; not a good sign. The wine showed more signs of age than expected, both in colour and on the nose. Light garnet and strawberry and light cherry on the palate with light earthy notes. Drinking perfectly now, silky and balanced. Reading others' tasting notes this bottle is in line with what others have tasted. So the wet cork likely did not matter. Drink up now.
