October 3, 2009 - Surprisingly good bottle for such an inexpensive wine. Nose has that great Syrah jammy/berry aroma with some minerality. It is missing the meaty smells of the great Syrahs. The berries jump right out in the mouth, tempered by nicely integrated tannins. The minerality comes through too with some nice cassis and herb flavors. Finish is ok - could be longer - but is nice and has some layers to it.
