December 6, 2012 - Tasted blind. Dark ruby-purple color. The nose has lots of dark fruit, plums, blackberry, a little sweet tobacco. I guessed this was a Zinfandel. It's actually pretty good, very easy to drink. The fruit is tasty, the oak is nicely done, there's some backbone for balance. Other than the fact that it doesn't taste at all like Merlot, I have to say I like it.
