October 20, 2023 - In good condition, but a bit plain and alcohol heat comes through.
March 12, 2021 - For me this was over the hill, unexpected but not enough fruit to hit the spot. Unfortunately, the alcohol dominated. Lots of plus points though, raisins, liquorice, clove and cinnamon.
April 12, 2020 - At the end of its drinking window I'd say, but enjoyable. Brick red. Stewed raspberries, balsamic vinegar and terra cotta. Still cohesive, a touch syrupy even. Drying tannin on the finish. Better with food. Happy with my last bottle.
February 16, 2019 - Mature flavours but the ripe black fruits are persistant. Probably time to drink up but if anything the maturity had made it better with food.
November 14, 2018 - Charming, as always, although some signs now of overmaturation. Time to drink, but still a treat.
May 19, 2018 - Deep, rich gigondas, with lots of red fruit, lavender, spice and sweet flavors. Delicious.
April 10, 2018 - This terroirwine gives you more than a mouthfull of Rhôneperfumes. Deep, mature and sweet plum, raspberry, wrapped in loads of liquorice, chocolate, against a background of rosemary. No brakes full steam pleasure. But don't wait much more.
December 19, 2016 - Initially tastes very sweet but this rapidly resolves into a spicy, cedar flavour. Still a little fruit now red rather than the black fruit of its youth. Hints of licorice and oak. Nice finish, salty with good length and fine tannins.
October 24, 2016 - Dunkles purpurrot; intensive dunkle Beerenfrucht-, Lakritz-, Weihrauch-, Schoko- und Gewürznoten; mittlerer bis voller Körper, reichlich fein- bis mittelkörniges, zehrendes Tannin. Langer Abgang.
October 11, 2015 - Second Sunday Group: 2007 Chateauneuf-du-Pape (R&D's): Aromas of dark fruit, incense and perfume with a nice underlying funkiness. Full-bodied and intense, with flavors of dark fruit, incense and tapenade. 90-91 pts.
