May 5, 2020 - A fruit-driven Cote Rotie with a thick, savory texture and densely concentrated flavors of dark fruits and smoked meats. A wine with verve and succulence which builds to an intense, smoky finish with hints of hung game, floral spice and minerals. This is a crunchy wine! Really good but the '12 Levet Chavaroche drunk alongside was better. 92+

February 2, 2019 - La Tablee: Celebratory Dinner (BYO) (26 Bridge Street, Brooklyn): From a 3L. Very intense and pretty and great fruit and interesting. It's much too young esp from that format, but it's got some wonderful stuffing and was fun to try. From the domaine.

September 22, 2018 - Really good N Rhone nose of baconfat, smoked meats and slate minerals. Very ripe and fat style but the flavor profile is authentic with rich sweet black fruits and really distinct slate minerality. Finishes rather tight but with a interesting smoky note and excellent verve. On the ripe side but to me it works. 93+

March 24, 2016 - Les Gobeloteurs (Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey - Chassagne-Montrachet): Tasting, brief note. Plenty of fresh black berries, dark chocolate. Rich and intense start, lots of energy and vibrant textures on long finish. Great now with upside from here.

August 16, 2014 - Deep, dark color. Fragrant nose of black pepper, ripe dark berries, game and mint. This is silky and gorgeous juice that is quite young and high-toned but shows real strong concentration and complexity. Lovely flavors of very ripe blackberries and boysenberries with hints of pepper and smoke. Really rich but also very fine with a lovely freshness and juicyness. The finish is spicy complex with subtle notes of roasted game, blackberry liqueur and charcoal. This is special juice and will benefit from several more years in bottle. 94+
