June 11, 2019 - 2000 Ch. du Tertre Margaux. Mid-brick, amber edges; smokey, cedar, earthy nose; cassis; mid-body; balanced; softening; good style; long fruity finish; some life left.

June 8, 2019 - Decanted 2 hours. Aromatics were concentrated at first pour and after a while in the glass began to reveal cassis, plum, tobacco nuances. The palate is no more than mid-weight and the finish adequate. It's a nice varietal wine. Drink up now.

April 17, 2019 - Cigar box, blackberry; rounded, developed, and somewhat pleasing, but simplistic, without much depth, and a little short

April 11, 2019 - Interesting note: I found this bottle that had a glass removed via Coravin two years ago, so I figured I would open the bottle and finally finish it. The wine in the bottle was perfect, with no signs of oxidation (not that I didn't expect this). This is a really nice vintage of du Tertre; it's perhaps not as good as the overachieving 2005, but it's really good. It's still drinking very well and is showing no real signs of tiring. Very floral and with very pure black currant.

April 7, 2019 - Tannins seemed fully resolved from this bottle I uncorked in AM. Juicy and pleasant but lacking complexity.

(Chateau Du Tertre) Gorgeous nose of violets, blueberries, light vanilla, graphite & lots of mineral. Very elegant and layered nose. Silky palate of crushed blackberry and other red berry fruit. Firms up on the finish but there is a great fruit soak but finishes tannic and leaving you wanting more which I am sure it has in reserve.

(Château du Tertre) Herbaceous, pencil lead, mulberry nose; thick, herbaceous, pencil lead palate; medium finish
