April 10, 2012 - 13.6% alcohol. Dark red cherry color. The nose has evolved to be dominated by cranberry notes and earthy, floral nuances. In the mouth, quite intense, with tartness of the cranberry fruit. Right now, the tart edge the fruit has taken on makes it and the acidity dominant on the palate; it's nice, but not as complex or complete as previously. Looks like it could use a bit more time. Certainly lots of life yet. A-

August 2, 2011 - Tart cherry and spice. Held up very nicely vacuvinned so we could finish the bottle on Day 2. Nicely balanced acidity helped it drink very well with pasta and sausage ragu.

June 10, 2011 - Drinking very nicely! I wish I had more. Nothing more to add to my notes of 10/0/2010, other than to say it is still improving.

March 2, 2011 - 13.6% alcohol. Dark black cherry color. Initially a bit tight on the nose, but it opened up very quickly and revealed lovely character. The bouquet fills up with black cherry, earth, minerals, and a smokey note. In the mouth, concentrated, focused, and tremendous balance. The layers of juicy black cherry, earth, spice, and minerals work together beautifully. The wine has a bit of a chameleon character, showing fruit up front but then trading off with rich earthy notes. Velvety texture is retained despite bright acidity. The finish is long and singing. Really marvelous. A-/A

6/28/2009 (link) 91 points(Dain Wines Pinot Noir Savage Juliet Riserva) Nice tart cherry, raspberry, baked cherry and berry nose; tight yet, but big tart cherry, berry palate with good acidity; medium finish (50% new French oak for 16 months; co-fermented with 1% Pinot Gris whole cluster)
