December 15, 2015 - The aromas and flavors match with notes of honey, papaya and apricot. Fresh, sweet but could use more acidity. Medium finish, drinking well now and should last through its 15th birthday.

June 25, 2014 - Darker gold; great nose with both baked and jolly rancher apple at the same time with ripe green melon, ripe apricot, and overripe pineapple; toffee/caramel/bees wax notes with rich ripe hedonistic aromas; petrol and slight pecan nuttiness as well; similar flavors on the palate, intense, ripe, juicy, simply delicious. acid is a bit lower as to be expected in an '06, quite broad, but light on its feet with good sugar content, and even a bit of rocky-slately minerality in the long long finish. This is not chiseled or "finely etched", but boy is it tasty. Great now.

April 18, 2012 - Beautifol golden color. Initially rather reticent and closed nose, but opens up to reveal loads and loads of honey. Not just any honeyed aromas, but honest-to-god real honey. Also a touch of florals, mango and dried apricots. Very full bodied, soft and low on acidity. High viscosity. The palate is dominated by the same real honey that was evident in the nose. Elegant yet very one-dimensional; only a smallest touch of minerality and dried yellow fruits along with the intense honey. Rather short finish with lots of honey and some juicy acidity with a hint of spice and florals. A lot better when chilled - acidity and minerality is much more pronounced. An ok sticky, but quite a let-down after the wonderful Winkeler Hasensprung GG Riesling.

February 5, 2009 - VDP Rheingau Riesling Review 2009 (German House, London, U.K.): Quite taken aback when tasting this wine. Iimmediately a notion of a light sponge cake with mango and papaya come to my mind, mixed with the sweetness of burnt red pepper. It's not so much about major evolution on the mid-p with this one, but it's viscous from the start and leaves you yearning for me. I can see a major headache developing (and that's a plus?)
