December 22, 2023 - 1/6. This had pure morello cherry on the nose, quite aromatic with a touch of grilled meat. Medium/full bodied, quite mouth-filling with blue fruits, morello cherry, really fine tannins, light savoury edge, vibrant/crisp acidity carrying an exapnsive, long finish. Young yet but quite compelling. Excellent, touching outstanding. (With FC/AW at Noize)

May 15, 2022 - Drank with a 2008 Faiveley Mazi, which was slightly superior. The Ponsot was heavier and more reductive, but still an excellent wine. The nose was the highlight with beautiful notes cassis and mineral. For its heft, I expected a longer finish, but instead it seemed muted. This was in comparison to the Faiveley which had a more rustic but looong finish. The Ponsot could be an interesting wine to convert the CA pinot lover.

January 16, 2021 - My 3rd btl and it delivered the best ever. I did a half btl decanted and left in bottle to serve after 6 hours. The explosive aroma of flowers, fruits and minerals caught my heart. The palate was elegant and medium body filled my mouth with many pleasures. A long after taste let me believe again, how to serve the wines could make the differences, since I was disappointed by the first two bottles of this wine two years ago.

November 12, 2020 - This is wonderfully balanced, with great acidity black fruit and a floral overtone. Soft tannins, surprisingly ripe for the vintage and ready to drink right out of the bottle.

July 31, 2020 - Weekend Chez K's; 7/30/2020-8/1/2020: First grand cru from Ponsot and it delivered very nicely; the nose was explosive and intense with beautiful red berry fruits, mineral and game notes, spice, and floral, with hints of damp earth. Very little in the way of secondary development. The palate was intense and concentrated, but really quite fresh; had more flesh than I thought it would for the vintage with a long finish. Excellent.
