Community Tasting Notes 2

March 19, 2011 - Saturday Evening Wines (Washington, DC): If tasted blindly, I wouldn't have pegged this for a Bien Nacido pinot noir. Awesome, spicy, nose of sour cherries, radishes, and peppered cranberries. The palate started off a bit thin and acidic, but with air it's complexity increased. Very nice minerality on the palate with subtle red fruits, pepper, violets, and dried roses. Took a bit to come around for me, but I really enjoyed what the wine morphed into.

March 19, 2011 - Saturday Night at Tooch's (Tooch's - Washington, D.C.): Nose shows horseradish, cherries, must. Spicy cherries, tons of acid. Lots of peppercorn and horseradish. Bitter sttrawberries. Musty cherries. Good acid and tannins. Would be better w food. White pepper on the finish.
