Tinta Negra = Mollar Negro of Andalusia. Lots of vineyards Pergola trained, with other crops planted underneath. Bananas compete for the same space as grapes. American Oak is the choice on the island.

  November 3, 2014 - On pop&pour: On both nose and palate, orange and tangerine, maybe a little bit of apricot. Thick and unctuous on the midpalate with toffeeish flavors. The finish is woody and short; I would have preferred a longer end. Simple and straightforward, but good for what it is: an aperitif.
  
  I like this quite a lot, but I don't know how to rate it, as I have little experience with Madeiras. However, it works at $16, and I would rebuy it, if I could only find it.

  January 10, 2014 - Like a tawny port, caramel and a little orange peel. I must have liked it when I bought it at the tasting, but have mostly forgotten it. Surprised at how good it is, given the "maderized" character.
