Community Tasting Notes 9

  • redmancge Does not like this wine:

May 24, 2017 - Bought on clearance MANY years ago. Just came across in back of cellar. Should have probably left it or maybe I just don't like this cheaper Carmenere. Tight tart and not a lot fruit over the hill for sure.

January 29, 2011 - I will have to say the nose was lacking. Some red fruits and a little earthy stink. On the palate the fruit really opened up and so did that earth. Very sour stinky dirt, lots of layers, you could almost taste the ground these grapes were grown in. The oak and alcohol on the back end were noticeable but not overwhelming. This wine reminded me of a Bordeaux.

December 12, 2010 - Spicey and pretty complex nose of red fruits and a variety of peppers and some cinnomon/nutmeg thing going on. Juicy on the palate with a shortish finish. I foundthis to have a chaliness to it as well.

December 11, 2010 - Interesting nose that seemed to keep changing in the glass. Hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, dark fruit and hot peppers. Very dark in the glass. Medium bodied with dark fruit and chalky tannins. With air it became much more Juicy with a shortish finish.

November 23, 2010 - Exceeded expectation. Great price to value ratio. Beautiful dark purple color, complex nose initially of dark cherry and pepper, but fruit faded somewhat fast giving way to more pepper. Great tannins and overall good balance. Will seek out to buy some more of this one for everyday enjoyment.
