November 20, 2012 - This bottle had a little more age on it than I usually like for these, and it showed. Heavier, sweeter, and yeastier than in its prime, but showing interesting complexity and nice length. Drink very soon.

July 26, 2011 - Pleasant floral orange aroma. Clean fizzy flavors of tangerine and honey, Bayer baby aspirin shows up in the finish. This is an enjoyable wine with no real flaws, though I could quibble a bit over the finish. Not really deep or profound either but, hey, this is Moscato d'Asti.

March 20, 2011 - Excellent muscat desert wine. Served with orange slices and minty orange juice and lemon sauce. It went well. I was worried that it would be too old. The color and flavor was still good. The wine had less fizz than I remember when I served it about a year ago--it is closer to a still wine now, I thought. Still good though.

February 3, 2011 - CNY Dinner (Amber Park): The last and best half-bottle of the four that I bought. This had to be one of the very best Moscato d'Astis on the shelf - it was as always a clear level up on terms of complexity and intellectual appeal then your run-of-the-mill college quaffers. Lovely nose showed typical Moscato scents of white flowers, peach, nectarines - beautifully fragrant, but quite without some of the sickly soapiness that you sometimes get with other producers. The same flavour profile is taken on on the palate, where it fans out beautifully with a little fizz and a solid little touch of minerality. Again, lots of sweet perfumy fragrance in the mouth, but all nicely fresh and balance. Lovely stuff.

December 24, 2010 - X'Mas Eve Party (Home): Nothing much has changed since my last note on this except that this time it tasted better when it was chilled further. Again the fruit tends towards ripening and the acidity is on the way down. Drink up.

December 9, 2010 - Disappointing. I'm a huge fan of Michele Chiarlo's wines and think they offer some of the best value for money around. Nivole is usually one of the best examples - a beautifully pure, sweet yet light nectar like liquid white peaches - the epitome of good Moscato d'Asti. However, this example is a little chemical-y, as the less good examples can get, tasting a little like pear drops. Still very delicious, but at the higher price point here (US) than in the UK, I won't be rebuying this one.

December 5, 2010 - Clearly this was not showing the freshness and effervescence of a young Moscato. Ripe apricots and peach palate with the acidity starting to recede. Keeping this any longer will degrade it into an average wine. Drink this more chilled than usual.

November 25, 2010 - Awesome dessert wine. On the nose is peach and apricot. On the palate is peach and apricots paired with a slight fizz.
