Community Tasting Notes 5

January 2, 2017 - Weekly tasting group RWP #241: DJ's birthday, so a complete surprise. (@ DJ): In the bouquet dark berries, chocolate and coffee. On the palate the same impressions with good dark berries, chocolate, pleasant acidity, good acidity and slightly drying tannin. Some pleasant sweetness as well.

September 14, 2016 - In the bouquet earth, some rustic barnyard flavors, coffee, tar, tea, some oak and a touch of sweetness. On the palate a sweet start with strawberries, some autumn and rustic flavors, oak, good acidity and a bit unpolished tannin. Nevertheless the wine has refinement as well. Ready now and the next few years.

September 17, 2011 - Quite reticent to start with, then impressively subtle wine with complex aromas, good fruit, pale in colour, sophisticated and balanced finish - tasting it blind I wasn't sure it was Barolo because the tannins were so fine, just contributing to a taut structure.

December 24, 2010 - Lacks structure and length. Nice nose, but kinda falls flat on the palate... Drink now.

February 28, 2009 - Wines of Piedmont (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had sweet raspberry and vanilla. The palate was soft, and had raspberry, oak, spice, and cherry.
