April 7, 2023 - Just absolutle prime-time drinking. Fully integrated fruit but still incredibly fresh and vibrant. My last TN for November holds - this is an amazing cab!

November 25, 2022 - Man, I freaking love this wine! Beautiful juicy bing cherries, cinnamon, cassis, and a hint of pencil shavings on the long, acid-filled finish (truly just mouthwatering). Medium bodied and just absolutley delicious. This is literally everything that I want in a cab. And truly the best. Label. EVER!

December 13, 2021 - 1999 Thunder Mountain Cabernet, Bates Ranch, Santa Cruz Mountains. Wow, this was insanely good! Like.....one of the best cabs I've ever had good! Just beautiful notes of pure black cherry, cassis, and a tiny hint of tobacco. But what really kicks this up to the next level is the acidity. Truly just waves and waves of mouth watering acidity that has kept this wine incredibly fresh and almost juicy. It honestly stopped me in my tracks when I took the first sip! I could not be happier that I secured 4 bottles of this wine at auction and just hope that the remaining 3 are in the same ballpark as this one! And as always, an extra point for the label ;)

June 14, 2014 - Mature cedar and redwood, vanilla and a touch of green peppercorn. Good acid and mineral, but somehow lacks vibrancy. Still enjoyable, but on the decline. Drink now.

November 12, 2012 - Dinner at Sun Wah (Sun Wah BBQ - Chicago, IL): Beautiful and dark. Had a meaty edge to it that was a bit unique compared to the other Thunder Mountain's at dinner. In addition to the meat, this also had that lovely dried dark fruit, earth and mint notes that are signatures of Thunder Mountain cabernets.
