May 30, 2017 - Still some nice fruit and soft tannins. Pleasant if not complicated. Cannot be many left out there.

December 23, 2016 - Still very complex but tannins are smoothed out. Would not wait any longer. Best after breathing a bit.

July 19, 2014 - Past its prime at this point. Only a little lingering essence of what it once was. Very mellow, not much finish.

December 25, 2013 - Decanted. No bricking or color change and not a lot of sediment for that matter. Last tried two years ago and gave a 92. There is still a fair amount going on with fruit and secondary notes but it's a little stripped down compared to my last bottle. What was there held up for several hours. Not scored.

December 25, 2013 - Holding up quite well, I was curious how this wine was showing so many years later -- 1999 was a strong vintage and this wine displays that vigor and opulence. This wine drinks like a premium Meritage-style Cali wine with big cherry, cassis, mocha and a hint of a minty quality. I don't recall this wine having hi-toned fruit, but it is there. The tannins are polished with just enough acidity for the flavors to shine through to the long finish. We had this with prime rib and it was delicious with and after the meal. The wine showed a nice ruby color with some signs of aging around the outer ring. I believe this wine has 3-5 years of life ahead of it.
